The summit is a recently developed site with a temple dedicated to Shiva, a Hindu God, restaurants, and a five-star resort. It is recommended for families with kids and older adults who cannot hike but still want a viewpoint to experience the geography and Himalayan scenery of Nepal.

At an altitude of 2551 meters above sea level, Chandragiri Hill, surrounded by lush temperate vegetation, majestically rises on the western horizon of Kathmandu Valley, and has protected the Kathmandu Valley since an unknown period. Recently, it has been developed as a sightseeing hill station for the people of Kathmandu Valley, with a cable car service to the hilltop; the Chandragiri hilltop has a luxurious five-star resort. It is 7 kilometers from the center of Kathmandu, with a quick cable car ride that lets visitors enjoy the Himalayan panoramas Nepal is known worldwide for. With binoculars, one can even see Mount Everest! Those willing to hike can walk from the cable car’s base, which takes 3 hours uphill.

Itinerary

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, your guide and driver arrive at your hotel. Drive 7 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu. Reach the Chandragiri Cable Car station in about 40 minutes. We leave the vehicle, buy cable car tickets, and take the cable car to the summit of Chandragiri Hill with beautiful vistas of the Kathmandu Valley, its surrounding hills, and the charming jungle area.

Reach the top and visit the area, including the temple, lunch stop, and sightseeing. Ride back to the base, where your vehicle will be waiting. Continue a short drive back to our hotel in Kathmandu. Arrive at your hotel and enjoy free time.
