Physical Fitness for Mountaineering Activities in Nepal

Mountaineering activity in Nepal is one of the fame-filled adventure activities. Nepal is a once-in-a-lifetime destination for any passion-filled mountaineers in the World. There are around 1400 peaks, among which only about 415 mountains are permitted to climb. However, the government of Nepal are opening the New Peaks at different time interval and occasions.

To climb these mountaineering peaks, one needs to be physically fit; apart from physical fitness, one needs to be well-acclimatised to the local environment. Altitude sickness could develop in anyone, including local people, if one overexerts oneself in a mountain environment over 2800 metres. Therefore, mountaineers aiming to climb a mountain in Nepal Himalaya should prepare well for their physical and mental strength, including a balanced diet, sleep, and physical exercise. The exercise should not be excessive, making you weak, but it should accumulate and save calories.

Take a regular physical check, including pressure and sugar balances and lung, kidney and liver function checks. Take care that you don’t suffer from the common cold before and while travelling to the Himalayas for mountaineering activities. Take several check-ups, get suggestions from your physician about anything you are more concerned about, and ensure there are no other issues.
