Introduction
The Mardi Himal trek takes you beyond the busy trails, away from settlements and villages, into a pristine wilderness of mountains and serene green forests. This trek suits families, school/college groups, and corporate groups, or anyone who wants to trek in the Himalayas but lacks time, or who wants to travel with kids but fears the altitude. Even with a short trekking period, the altitude increases gradually, allowing good acclimatization to the local climate.
The Mardi Himal trek is among the shortest and most scenic treks in Nepal, similar to the Peekye Trek in the Everest region, surrounded by incredible views of the high mountains of the Annapurna massif. Trekking starts in lovely, picturesque Pokhara, heading north through high green hills densely covered with tall rhododendron and pine trees, and passing traditional farm villages.
Each day offers stunning views of the Annapurna Himalaya range and its vast valleys, along quiet, hidden trails to Mardi Himal Base Camp, the trek’s highest point. Mardi Himal Base Camp lies beneath the majestic Machhapuchhre Himal, the Fishtailed Mountain, surrounded by beautiful snowy peaks. Then, enjoy grand moments as you descend to low, warm farm areas and take a short, scenic drive back to beautiful Pokhara.
The Mardi Himal trek is best for those who want to trek in the Himalayas but lack time, or who want to travel with families and kids but fear the altitude.
