Langtang Himal Helicopter Tour takes us quickly away from Kathmandu to the serene Himalayan range offering stunning views of Ganesh, Manaslu, and Langtang. The tour starts from Kathmandu Airport with a close-up view of Dorje Lhakpa, Gosainkunda range, Ganesh, and Manaslu mountain range and enters into the Langtang valley with incredible views. Beautiful mountains border Langtang Valley from all directions. Landing at Kyangjing Gonpa is like landing in the centre of a football stadium, surrounded by great masses of giant and beautiful mountains in all directions. We make two landings in Langtang, one on top of Cherku-Ri, one of the best viewpoints in Langtang Valley, above the Kyangjing village with a 360-degree panorama, surrounded by giant mountains. And another landing at Kyangjing village, enjoying one of the best mountain atmospheres from our breakfast table.
We board the helicopter flight back to Kathmandu with all the best memories. The return flight is equally beautiful since we repeat some mountain sceneries but from a different angle, finding it always the best and most beautiful.
Tour Highlights
Langtang is a mountain valley to the north of Kathmandu, bordering Tibet. The Langtang National Park has many high peaks, including the Langtang Lirung (7,246 metres) peak, the most preferred and challenged mountain among Japanese mountaineers, seen from different parts of Kathmandu Valley. About 8,000 people live inside the National Park area, with a majority of Tamang and Kyirongba people since they have been the original inhabitants before the founding of the national park. This park is the habitat of Himalayan black bears, wild boars, goat-like Himalayan tahr, Rhesus monkeys, Red Pandas, and snow leopards. There are also stories of Yeti, the Abominable Snowman, sightings in its northern belt connecting Mount Shisapangma into Tibet.
