Everest Climbing Itinerary

A completely free day to do last-minute shopping and repacking the bags to basecamp properly. This evening you will need to hand over your bags to basecamp for cargo to Lukla and then by porter to Everest basecamp. The mountaineering team leader will need to go to the department of the ministry of tourism to sign the document related to the mountaineering permit and responsibilities.

A 30-minute flight and a 3-hour trek.

Breakfast and take a short drive to Kathmandu Airport to board the domestic flight to Lukla. A 40-minute morning flight takes you to Lukla, with grand views of Himalayan peaks. You will be greeted by an excellent mountain panorama from the very first step at the Lukla airport, with cool air that lets you feel the atmosphere. Spend about an hour over tea/coffee and hand over our luggage to the porters. Then, take on a short introductory walk while the porters prepare their load. After spending an hour, start the trek with great excitement.

Start trek through the village of Lukla, gets checked with Khumbu Pasang Lhamu and TIMS permits at the end of the town, and exits from the village with immediate walking down through a forest facing northwest with welcoming views of Mount Kongde (Dudh Kunda Mountains) in front. After about a twenty-minute walk, the trail traverses to Chhoplung, passing the village and the School of Chauri Kharka (Chauri is a female yak, and Kharka means “shed ” in Nepali), The largest and ancestral village of Lukla, until the construction of Lukla Airport, was pastureland. After a short traverse, join the trail from Jiri to Everest Base Camp at Chhoplung, a hamlet of Sherpas. From Chhoplung, there is a level trail with short descending and climbing and traverses several villages, including Ghat. The views in front include Phakdingma, the Dudh Koshi River Valley, and Kwangde Mountain. Most of the houses on the trail and in the villages are lodges and restaurants for travellers. Finally, cross several beautiful villages, including Ghat, and arrive at Phakdingma, on the bank of the Dudh Koshi River.

Trek to Namche Bazaar, following the Dudh Koshi River to Monjo for lunch (Sagarmatha NP entrance). Afternoon climb to Namche. Day 5, acclimatisation in Namche (3500m). Optional hikes to Thamo village or the Everest View Hotel. Day 6, hike to Khumjung (3790m) via Everest View Hotel. Visit Khunde village. Day Tengboche (3867m). Scenic trail via Phortse Tenga. Visit Tengboche Monastery. Trek to Dingboche (4410m) via Pangboche (visit ancient village & monastery). Acclimatisation in Dingboche. Optional hike to Chhukung Ri (5540m). Trek to Lobuche (4887m). Trek to Gorak Shep (5164m). Optional afternoon hike to Kalo Patthar (5545m) for sunset view. On day 12, an early-morning hike to Kalo Patthar for sunrise, followed by a trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m).

The five days at the Everest Base Camp remain busy, including health check-ups, puja Ceremonies, meetings, checking climbing equipment, walking the ladder bridge, ladder climbing and descending, and hiking to Pumori and Kalo Patthar to acclimatize and for physical exercise. However, the Puja ceremony at the Everest Base Camp is prioritized, allowing the climbing Sherpa guide to begin climbing to camps two and three to deposit the expedition supplies. For the Puja, a monk from Pangboche or a nearby village is invited to lead a puja ritual to solicit the local deities for a peaceful, obstacle-free expedition.

Retrace to Gorak Shep, then to Lobuche, and fork west to Lobuje Peak Base Camp. As you traverse to the Lobuje Peak base camp, the scenery toward Lobuche and Dzongla is indescribable. The base camp is situated in a small valley opening to the south, which provides fantastic views and a warm place to Camp.

Lobuje Peak, 6,119 metres, is the second-most famous peak, climbed during an Everest Base Camp trek or in an Everest Acclimatizing climb. The usual route to the high Camp and summit goes up a small valley from the base camp. The mountain has two summits, East and West, at 6,119 metres and 6,145 metres, respectively; the West is an Expedition Peak. After the ascent, descend to base camp, where your kitchen crews will be waiting for us with some recharging hot items. Lobuje is an acclimatizing climb; therefore, the focus is to sleep at about 6000 metres and back.

Climb to Everest C1 (6000m). Climb to C2 (6300m). Rest Day at C2. Climb to C3 (7100m) and back to C2. Rest Day at C2. Climb to C3 (7100m). Climb to C4 and back to C2. Back to BC.

Four complete rest days to recharge the body. A comfortable single room is assigned to each member. A cook helper will descend to Lobuche to prepare special meals for the members. At the same time, an open menu is always available at the rest camp for members to choose from.

Rest, body check-ups, meet and brief, recheck the equipment list, get information on camps, communication, meals, oxygen, climbing guides, time schedules.

Climb to C2 (6,300m.). Climb to C3 (7100m). Climb to C3 (7,100m.). Climb to C4 (7900m.) and continue to the Everest Summit and return to C4. Return to base camp.

Rest and repack

Farewell with the kitchen and Sherpa guides and base camp staff, and board a helicopter flight to Lukla and board a Lukla – Kathmandu flight. A short scenic flight takes you to Kathmandu. Upon landing, a representative from Happy Feet Mountaineers will welcome you back and transfer you to your hotel. Get distributed to the rooms, and the rest of the day is free for you.

Spare days

The expedition team leader requires a visit to the Ministry of Tourism to sign the relevant document. Other members are free to complete their last-day activities.

Breakfast and the rest of the day are leisure on your own. The Representative of Happy Feet Nepal will arrive at your hotel with transport three hours before your departure flight time. Get escorted from the hotel to the International Departure Terminal, see off formalities, and go through the immigration and departure.
