Far East & Eastern Corners of Nepal
Adventure in remote and hidden areas of the Eastern Himalayas with glorious views
Nepal’s eastern and far eastern Himalayan region offers some mind-blowing adventures into remote, hidden areas, explored by very few trekkers due to its natural isolation. The home to the World’s tallest, 3rd, and 5th mountains has wonderful valleys and mountainous regions filled with remote, culturally unspoiled villages to see and learn about the lives, religions, and mysteries they hold. The area is accessible only by flight or a long road drive from the capital city, Kathmandu. This area lies at the eastern border of Nepal, within a virgin wilderness, which limits the availability of good lodges and food.
Some treks and mountaineering groups to Kanchenjunga and Makalu require full camping expeditions, with your accommodation, kitchen crew, and food and drinks, allowing only the determined trekkers and mountaineering groups. The Happy Feet Mountaineers provide an excellent camping facility, with a separate mobile kitchen unit, a cook, and kitchen staff, and expert guides and strong porters to handle logistics.
Trekking in the Kanchenjunga and Makalu areas requires more than two weeks to reach the close vicinity of high Himalayan peaks amid the sheer wilderness and tranquil environment. Most of the trek involves high-altitude walks and crossings above 5,000 meters, rewarding you with endless views of mountains and beautiful landscapes as you walk through serene, pristine areas of the Himalayas, away from the main flow of trekkers.
