About Koshi Tappu Wildlife Tour
The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve offers habitats for a variety of wildlife. The last surviving populations (about 100) of wild buffalo or Arna live in Koshi Tappu Park. Other mammals are the hog deer, wild boar, spotted deer, and blue bull. Koshi Tappu is home to 280 bird species, including 20 duck species, two species of ibises, many storks, and egrets; herons include endangered swamp partridge and Bengal Florican. In addition, the Kosi Barrage is extremely important as a habitat for migratory birds. Many species recorded here are not seen elsewhere in Nepal. In addition, the park is home to endangered Gharial Crocodile and Gangetic dolphins in the Kosi River.
